Biography:
Tammie Fleury Cruell, MD, NCPT, is a dedicated and nationally certified Pilates instructor with extensive classical training from The Pilates Center and Inside Out Body Therapies. She completed 700 hours of comprehensive Pilates education and graduated in 2025. Tammie trained under Deborah Matthews and Mischa Decker, co-owners of Inside Out Body Therapies. She also trained with The Pilates Center owners Amy Alpers and Rachel Sege, who studied directly with Pilates elder Romana Kryzanowska.
Tammie holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University and earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from UCLA/Drew School of Medicine. She completed advanced medical training and education during an internship at Tulane University and residency training at Emory University. Tammie is also a committed member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Tammie brings a lifelong passion for movement, rhythm, and expression into her Pilates practice. Her love of dance includes ballroom styles, Chicago Steppin’, Detroit Ballroom, line dancing, and choreography, which influence her fluid, intentional, and embodied teaching style.
Tammie embraces the core fundamentals of strength and flexibility through a mind-body-energy connection. She believes that each client is the expert on their own body. She guides clients toward sustainable strength, balance, and personal success through a combination of listening, moving with awareness, and meeting clients where they are.
